October 4th: Optional Homework: Write your egg drop journal so you can begin science class on Thursday with building instead of writing.

Today in class:

Math class: Students are working on divisibility rules. They are also working on factors of numbers. They will be applying this review to finding great common factors. Yesterday we used a Venn Diagram to find common factors.

Language Arts: Students have been diligently working on editing their responses to the Revealers. We are having great dialog on how to make a strong, well edited response. They have also been continuing their acquisition of root words.

Social Studies: Yesterday we spent some time working with a VT Map. They worked on using the alpha-numeric grid, legends and scale and distance. We even discussed how to follow routes to get from one place to another. Today they began working on a way to present their knowledge of land and water terms through the use of technology. They learned how to create a folder to hold images, how to save images, how to insert images in a word document or presentation tool. They have the opportunity to work after school on glogster so they can create an electronic poster if they so desire. They were quite productive.

Science: We continue to work on the egg drop project. Wednesday, we won't have time to do this due to NECAP testing and the early release day. Students might be ready to test their structures with hard boiled eggs on Thursday. The Egg Drop is on Tuesday, October 11th at 10:00 (weather dependent)
